GCSE Computing/Computer Science

Students who choose the Computer Science option will follow the OCR GCSE Computer Science  program which involves both learning about the theory behind modern computer systems and developing  programming skills to solve problems as part of a 20 hour programming task.  The course is assessed through 2 terminal examinations covering all aspects of the course, each worth 50% of the overall grade. The course places a strong emphasis on problem solving via computational thinking, as a result, much of the specification requires a systematic and analytical approach.
